Hi I’m new to the forum. I picked up a blown n844t from an lx 665. I’m wondering if I can run the turbo on my lx565 with the n844 na engine?

It can always be done, but the pump won't be made to give extra fuel needed to run the extra air charge. I don't know how much boost would be safe to run on a NA engine though.
My understanding of a turbo system like that is you have an actuator on it so as boost rises, it increases the fuel provided to the injectors. There will be a limit of how much can be supplied by the pump though, so you may be adding more air, but no more fuel to give the extra bang that you're after.
Do diesels have issues of running lean like petrol/gassers do? if so, you could be having heat issues from running lean. My understanding was that they don't, but i'm in no way an expert on turbos.
I'm interested in seeing how you go though, i did want to add a hair drier to my Kubota V2203di to get that little bit extra out of it.

Thanks for responding. The injection pump and injectors are the same. I don’t see any hose going from turbo to pump either. It’s strange.

If there is no hose on the previous setup and the pump and injectors are the same, it may not need to feed the extra fuel for the amount of boost it gives. It won't be a whole lot of boost vs the NA setup, it only gives 10 or so HP more power from memory, but hey, it all helps doesn't it?
They may work on the assumption that at full load, you get black smoke that is unburnt fuel, the extra air may help that burn up and give the extra power.
Does the NA motor have the required oil feeds for lubricating/cooling the turbo?
