As i look around, is see 3 sets of over the tracks, all of which are worn out they all been rebuilt 3 times or so and bout thin as paper so id say there junk. Thinking about tire chains looks like I'm gonna be up state NY for the winter so its gonna be a traction thing. Whats a good chain and pattern for use in snow, packed snow, ice all the good stuff. Id like to try a set ,i know ill be buying a couple of sets of tracks for mud sand and that type of fun but think chains in the winter be easier to handle and wont cost so much. Whats everyone know?

Chains for wintertime. I usually run just a simple cross chain on mine. I plow a lot of paved parking lots and the chains wear out pretty fast if I do much turning. Its simple to pop a new cross chain in when one wears out. I run a cross chain on every second link.

I bought my chains from the local Bobcat dealer and they were Peerless brand truck chains (cross-link style).
My driveway is gravel, long and steep. The chains have worked great and I just have them on the rear tires.

I did the same, chains from Bobcat dealer were 85 I think and have been all I have needed and we had bad ice last winter.
