Hi Guys Help please. I had the injector pump out to fix a leak and now putting it back in I find it will go in many different positions. It is a rotory type with an internal spline on the pump. I know the timing gears have dots on them , I have the cover off but how do i line up the internal spline of the pump to the male spline that drives it from the gear in the motor ?? What a mess up, omg Thanks for reading. Sincerely Maddy

Sadly this one is beyond me, I have never messed with a rotary pump, hopefully someone can help you out on that.
Absolute worst case, you can work it out by moving it from position to position then rotating the motor over to see when you get fuel just before TDC on the appropriate cylinder. It's not going to be a fun way of doing it, but if you need to, it will get the job done.
Hopefully that makes some sense.

Manualslib has a 4.108 Worksop and Repair book on their site, haven't read through it but I would imagine it covers timing the injector pump.

And Thanks Tazza, When i found out the firing order was 1-4, 2-3 , I actually thought that, turn the pump till 1&4 squirt type thing, Good thinking outside the box ;-)
