Tier3 sr250 egr delete

Hi guys! I’m new to the forum. I own a 2011 sr250 and would like to delete the egr. The blocking plate is easy, but do I need to do anything electronically to prevent any codes or warning lights? Any first hand experiences would be appreciated!

I'm here as well to learn if this is possible without spending $$$$. 2011 Sr220 here. Just hit 500 hours on the machine.
