Just looked at a bobcat 743. Guy is asking $9500 canadian($7300USD). Made the 3 hour drive to check it out. There is are no other options for machines near me, in my price range. Everything works fine, little noisy when moving but I read it is common for them. Meter says 3400 hours, but doesnt work and guy said it is likely closer to 5500. Started right up when I turned the key.

Hydraulics are not leaking, no puddles or drip marks under it on concrete floor after using it. However underneath it is wet with oil when I rub my hand over it. No idea where it is coming from.

Thoughts about if I should pick it up or run.

If you need it, buy it. Just about any hydrostatic drive machine that works better than a shovel will bring $7K these days, and if your "price range" is like my own, you are not going to spend a lot more than that.

My take is that you have now have to make another 6 hr rounder to bring it home! Most machines leak somewhat & being parked on concrete & no drips says a lot. All you have to do to is search prior auction sales to find the pricing & to me that price is cheap enough.

That machine looks great I have on that continues to impress me, they are easier to work on with out all the new computer chip BS, I'm in the school of old but good, unless i could afford new of course, but then I wouldn't be here listening to the Gurus
