Thomas 245 skid steer auxillary switch

I just recently bought a Thomas 245 skid steer and hooked my post hole attachment up to the machine. However the auxiliary control switch did not function to turn the auger on. But if I flipped the hydro switch on located in the upper left hand control panel then the auger would only turn in one direction. Does the button on the left steering arm control the direction of hydraulic flow to the attachments?
