New to me Thomas 205 is over hearing. I ran it an hour and a half when I noticed. Light didn’t come on. So I guess I need to fix that. It was in the low 70s today. Should I go straight for the thermostat? Is this a common problem on this brand?

I'd look at thermostat and radiator, make sure the radiator fins are not plugged up and that the cooling fan is working.
If all these check out, the inside of the radiator may be plugged up and need a professional clean.
