today my dad n i were talking about trading in our 99 bobcat 863 turbo with the deutz for a new s250 but we want the joystick controls if i remember right there was a thread saying something about the electronics being a pain to work on?? any thoughts are appreciated

Hand controls can be a total nightmare. Most of the repairs are dealer only as they will need to hook it up to a laptop. Consider this upgrade carefully!
With that said, some people have hand controls and they don't give them a day of grief, others have them and they have only had trouble with them. If you really want to go this route, i'd recommend you trade it in before its out of warranty, you don't want the bills for work needed if something fails on you.

Personally I feel the JSC and AHC are the worst machines ever built by Bobcat , Melroe , Ingersol Ryan and Sousand ( or however it's spelled ) , they are a parts machine which is what Bobcat wants , you have to bring it to them to troubleshot electrical problems , , you have to get the parts from them , alot more very expensive parts and wires that are not on foot controll models , when those machines go down it is measured in thousands of dollars not hundreds , like Tazza says it will have to go to the dealer to do most all work to it , and I feel that the operational benifits are not even worth it , ----------------------if you want joysticks then go for the Takeuchi , it is a much better machine as far as reliability , they very seldom break down and you can work on it a lot easier , low pressure over high is much better than fly by wires with technoligy that is trademarked and the service manuel doesn't even give you the information that is given to the dealers service people , only thing about the Takeuchi is they use to never come high flow , but I would bet that is coming soon , and a much better tracking system
