I am in the market to purchase a used machine and I have located a t300 and an asv rc 85. Both are relatively the same price and are 2006 and 2007 models. Which one would be the better buy. The both have about 2000 hrs. I will be using the machine for clearing land and leveling lots. Which machine is more reliable? I have been leaning toward a t300 as this is the machine I am most familiar with. Any help would be appreciated. This will be my first machine purchase. It will spend a good amount of time in the woods and the land here is a bit swampy.

I'd tell you the T3 is a better machine than an ASV , Catapilliar or Positrack as all three of those are the same animal , as long as you stay away from the T 3 with JSC ( joy stick controlls ) or AHC ( advanced hand controlls ) as both of those machines have a lot of issues with electrical problems that are hard and expensive to troubleshot and repair ------------ if you want the best tracked loader out there then get a Takeuchi TL series , Takeuchi was the first to build a track loader they were years ahead of all other brands thier design is pretty much the same as it has been from the begining , low over high pressure pilot controlled , much more reliable than fly by wires , only draw back is some people can't get use to joystick controlls , but others once use to it don't want to ever go back and the tracking system on the TL's will out last any brand by a long shot , I have never changed a travel motor on a Takeuchi and have done over a hundred on Bobcat , Bobcat charges $4,300 for a travel motor and they don't last ------------look out for the new Kubota track loader , have had some dealings with them and they may be the next best machine out there after the Takeuchi ( Geil and Mustangs are Takeuchi with paint and decals )

Thanks for the help. Handy information to have. I will broaden my search for a Takeuchi also.
