T300 not charging the battery (Fixed)

A while back my T300 built in 2006 was not charging after about 1600 Hrs. I checked the system out and determined the alternator assy. was the problem. I looked into a regulator/brush assy. hoping I just had worn out brushes. I guy I talk to trying to match up this assy. at an alternator rebuilder told me that if I was in a highly dusty environment my brushes could be seized up in their spring loaded bore. So I removed the rear plate that holds the regulator/brush assy,(with the alt. still on the machine) found the brushes packed with dirt and seized. I just kept taping the brush housing with a screwdriver handle until enough dirt fell out and they started moving freely again. It was a Valajo Alt. as I recall. So try this before spending $300.00 for another Alt. Ken
