Bought a grapple and installed. Immediately after closing the grapple, the bobcat started to dead head and no other functions will work. It appears the grapple is trying to close. The machine will dead head even as soon as it starts (don't even have to push the green button to activate the hydraulic system). Both auxiliary solenoids are working ok. I have cleaned and reversed the solenoid stems and the grapple is still trying to close as soon as the machine starts. Assuming the solenoids are good, and the stems are not stuck, what else could be causing the machine to try and close the grapple as soon as it starts? Thanks,

So you swapped everything and nothing changed. Unplug the solenoids and see if the dead heading stops. If it does, you have a short to power. If not, the aux spool vavle in the control vavle has to be stuck.

Turns out it was a stuck spool. I just took the end off and pushed it back to neutral and moved it several times trying to free it up. Now the grapple will only open and not close. So, I switched solenoid stems and solenoids and the problem is exactly the same. Juice is going to both solenoids too. So, does that still sound like still might be problems in the spool. Can you pull the spool all the way out without detents coming out? Thanks for the reply and help!

It's fixed! When reassembling after the stuck spool, I had installed the centering retainer and spring backwards. Ugh....
