I have an older Bobcat 743 skid steer, that I bought, with a blown motor. I purchased a used V2203 reefer motor, to install in it's place.
I have read that replacing the V1703 with the V2203 may cause problems with the hydrostat system, as it may be too powerful, but willing to take the chance, as the skid steer will only be used occasionally, and for short times.
I have exchanged the oil pans, and know I have to modify the motor mounts to use them.
I do know the reefer motor is a DI engine, and old one is an IDI engine.
The reefer motor has throttle stops, that I can adjust for engine rpm's I want.
I'm not sure what to do with the fuel shut off solenoid, or if I can delete it, and use the manual lever above it.
I'm pretty handy with a wrench or 6, but not used to working with a diesel engine.
I have searched the web, and haven't found a straight forward "How To" manual for these common engine swaps.
Does anyone out there have one, or good instructions for this swap?
I also am in the lookout for that, what I'll call, the manual fuel shutoff lever, that is bolted directly above the fuel shut off solenoid, on the timing cover.
I got a little carried away trying to un-stick mine, and twisted the lever off.
Any and all suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.
