Anyone know how much to tighten the steering lever centering spring? I know I read it somewhere, but can't seem to find it now.

You didn't give us the model but.............there is a replacement spring w/ larger ID and a Cupped Washer available that fits many models. Get these two parts before you start. Less than $10. After that the nut can be just run down so long as the spring doesn't coil bind.

With my 743, the way i did mine was to close the spring up so when the levers were fully back or forward, you could only just see light between the coils. You don't want it screwed in so much so it limits the movement of the sticks reducing forward of backward speed.
The manual does give a figure, but i find that if it's not quite tight, the levers full forward on their own a little, making it creep.
