I'm working on my old 630 and going to reset the pintles because it wants to walk when the levers are in the neutral position. I have read several threads about this topic but I have missed where anyone has offered up some sort of schematic or wiring diagram that allows me to start and run the machine when I have the ROPS cage removed (wire harness unplugged) and it up on jack stands. Could someone save me the time of chasing the wiring to come up with it myself? Someone I'm sure has this problem solved long ago. Thanks

when I was redoing my 630 I removed the dash from the rops and was able to plug it into the harnes and just start/drive it around with the dash on my lap, two bolts hold it in place an I figured it was easier than trying to figure what wires went where in the harness plug

Sound like a decent idea and I will definitely look at that option. Are there any complications disconnecting the lights / light switch from the dash when doing this?

You do not have to remove the rops to adjust the neutral . Half a dozen or so small bolts and you can remove the seat and seat pan . Much easier and quicker. I did it several times on the 632 which is the same machine. Long as you have the seat out grease the u joint. If you have a old foam couch cushion it makes laying on the pumps a lot easier too.

If you replace any worn parts when you get done settting the neutral it should not move at all when just sitting there running.

Well, I do already have the seat out as I had the port block off and apart for cleaning the bronze filter, etc. I just thought that being able to work from the side of the machine would be a lot easier than just the front doing the neutral adjustment. The ROPs is already off too now. Thanks for the additional reminder to look at the U joint.

I also took the dash out of my 743 and placed it in my lap as I was working on getting ready for paint, When I got it moved to where I wanted I proceded to place it on the fender and then lowered the boom on it breaking the dash and two gauges. (should have stayed in bed that day)
