Spark Plug wires

Question: Picked up some marine spark plug wires (stainless steel) at a garage sale yesterday. Do you think I could use them on an 1816C SkidSteer. One of the SkidSteer wires has been taped where it got hot and burnt through. Don't know if stainless vs copper will make a big difference. I'm thinking if I use a multimeter and the resistance is similar there shouldn't be a problem. Any thought?
