Hey Guys,

I'm trying to source a replacement fuel sending unit. Bobcat has it for $100 part # 6568175. I'm surprised I can't find it on ebay, amazon or anywhere. Usually dealer listings with better pricing comes up or other brands to replace the factory part etc. Not finding anything. Anyone found anything or is my only solution to pony up the $100 + gasket etc. directly from Bobcat?

Thanks
Malcolm

Malcolm,
I did a "Quick" search and bobcat is the best price on that fuel sending unit. After market shop wanted like $225.
Did you Pull it and OHM test it?

Yeah same as what I'm finding. I guess bobcat it is.

Yes I pulled the sending unit out. It measures around 1.8 ~ 2 mega ohms and not much happened as I moved the float arm from empty to full. I'm assuming that was just the conductivity of the diesel fuel across the windings. They're clearly shot.

Iv'e seen many sending units on eBay that look exactly like the 743's except they don't have the posts to bolt the wires to. Also they don't say what the diameter is of the unit. they vary by the ohms, what ohms is the sending unit should be? for $25.00. i might go for it except for the electrical posts are not there.

I replaced the one on my 742B with an OE Bobcat part a couple years back, it was very reasonably priced.....not sure what the cost is now but it might be worth checking if you have not.
