Anybody else had trouble with severe duty (1/2" poly-carbonate) cab door being very hard to close, and occasionally not being able to be opened?
Had cab door replaced do to stress cracks appearing around gas strut mount for door. Also replaced because door was overly flexible and very hard to close, and occasionally not being able to open.
Got J.D. CTL back, and initially door was opening and closing easily, as one would expect. (Yeah!) However with in a few days, when I first got in machine for day; the door was very hard to close. Taking several rapid and hard pulls, reverse of slamming door from outside. Later door was back to opening closing, with some effort.
Today, I pulled up to diesel tank on concrete pad. Went to get out and could only open door a few inches. New door was doing what old door occasionally did, catching at top with metal bracket hitting safety guard, for falling objects. (All OEM from J.D.).
While stuck in CTL, I kept hearing an occasional deep metal-sounding popping noises. After finishing a reply to text message, I decided to try opening cab door one more time. Cab door opened without any problem, smooth as when I first got machine back from service. Cab door even closed easier, than earlier in day. Coincidentally, the popping noises had stopped.
I am wondering whether J.D. CTL cab or chassis has an assembly problem (bolts or nuts not properly tightened) between chassis and cab. Allowing cab to bend or warp. Maybe chassis itself is bending or warping, torquing cab?
Anyway, has anyone heard of such a problem or experienced cab door closing / opening problem?
Fix or solution?
