Hey guys, had an issue the other day with my b-hoie attachment. The hinge pin on my dipper slid out while digging stumps. Then while digging, yes I was watching the bucket not the boom, bent the dipper out of alignment and snapped the clevis off the rod. Very non-happy moment So while going about the FIX I was looking at the attachment of the clevis to the rod.
Is this clevis actually screwed into the rod?

I got everything out and grooved cleaned, pre heated and welded the clevis back onto the rod. Multi passed the welds. Pressed the dipper back into shape making sure the pins would stay aligned and put every thing back together. So it seems to work , now I can finish the job. Just asking about any thing I should be worried about with the fix. Sorry I got no pics for you since it was a stress filled sunday trying to get everything back together.
The clevis looked like cast as it was crystiline at the break.
Is the clevis available from B-Cat seperately?
Thanx in advance for any info.

What you did sounds right. The crystal look sounds like what it looks like after they tear off. Hopefully it won't fail again after you did a good weld job on it.

not sure in the case of your clevis..but i did see a video of them making a bobcat and the clevis was friction welded to the rod ...The clevis was held in a vise and the rod was spun very fast and pressed onto it ..got real hot real fast ...then it was done ..very slick

Its not cast and you can re-weld it. You can also take the cylinder apart and buy a replacement rod to install in your old cylinder.
