Hello, new to this, i have an l785 needed to add 1 gallon of hydraulic fluid after i noticed a lose filter. Now the boom and bucket move slow and studder when lifting. Any ideas on what i should look for. Maybe i need to bleed system? also left drive handle is hard to push foward. these problems were not there until i add fluid. thanks for the help

Air in the lines just works its way out. run the boom and bucket thru the motions and drive it around a little. It should clear up Mike

If refilling the system and getting the air out doesn't work, then the pump needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
Thanks for the info i have moved the boom and driven it around quit a bit in the last weeks but no luck boom and bucket still move slow and i can not operate them toghether. how can i test the pump? are they coplicated to rebuiled.

As long as your travel and turning are strong and your boom and bucket are only problem your gear pump is at fault . The gear pump is not that expensive if you can cross reference it and avoid the N/H dealer. I dont think theres a lot there thats servicable.O rings and seals but if theres mechanical wear its not practical to rebuild
There is a guy on ebay that has some N/H pumps and there is reference to a guy that people on the Forum do bussiness with that sells pumps. The pump that controls the boom and bucket is the small pump mounted on the end of your left hydrostatic pump. You may know that.
One thing you could check is that your aux.hydraulic linkage is not holding it open. That would a loss of pressure to the boom and bucket.
Go to the [Salvage Forum] down below and look in the thread that is titled [Helpful Links]. There may be a connection there on a pump. Get the name of the mfg. and any numbers to search the net. Should be about $350 to$400 if you can avoid the dealer. The dealer probably wants $800. Mike

The link to the ebay pump above is like the one that supplies pressure for your bucket and boom. If you call them they may have the one you need. Im sure there are other sources. Mike

I took a second look at your model L785 and this should be the pump you need if your pump is the problem. Last post tonight!!!

One more thing. If your model is pre 1994 it may have a system that shares hydraulic oil with the chain case. if it does there will be another filter below the seat on the right or the left. it may be a little forward of the seat.Yoy may have to romove a floor plate. I believe it is a bronze filter.
You also said the left stick got stiff after you added fluid. Did that go away? If not I would do more research before you buy a pump. The pumps all share the same system but you had problems with two different types of pumps after adding fluid. That would make me think something else is going on. Mike

There is a reference to that other filter tn this thread. 1992 LX555 Loss of Propulsion . It doesnt pertain to the same problem you have but if you read down a little i think the location of the filter is in there Mike
