Hello everyone I'm new to the board. Thank you in advance for your help. I have a hydraulic leak under the cab of my 1993 853 bobcat. I'm not sure exactly were it is coming from, I think its is coming from this square block on the left side of the cat frame, that is when your standing in the bucket and looking under the seat. This square block has about 4 lines going to it. And also two wires that appear to be connected to a sensor. Can you tell me what the square box is and if that is a sensor and how to remove the wire connecter from the block. It appears that is were the leak is coming from. Were this pair of wires connects there is a fitting that looks like a 3/4 open end wrench would fit and I can wiggle it with my fingers. It is a slow leak but it builds up in the pan, I have to add 2-3 gallons of oil every couple of hours. Also can I fill it up with red atf to help me locate the leak for sure? If this sensor is the leak, can I just tighten it up or do I need to remove it and put something on the threads. Thanks again Ronbo , [email protected]

If you could post a picture it would be easier to identify what you are looking at. If there is a fitting that you can wiggle it is probably leaking. Most if not all of the fittings use an o-ring to seal when tightened, once they leak the o-ring is usually damaged and will need to be replaced. I would not recommend putting ATF in the system. If it is leaking as much oil as you say it should show up fairly easy if you CAREFULLY run the machine with the cab up. If your 853 has the BICS system you may have to activate that while the cab is up to be able to 'make it leak'. There must be a plug in type connector near the 'sensor' you are seeing, but without seeing it I can only guess.
