I just drop a skidsteer into canal... Got lucky, it went sideways and ways able to get out. Had to pull it straight up with a big backhoe. Looking for some tech help It is a Bobcat 436, Any idea where I can get info on engine. . Anything under seat to worry about. The gauges where all full of water, sprays alternator with wd40. Oil was coming out of intake. I drained it and filled it with diesel, going work on it tomorrow. Trying to find how to get heater plugs or injector out so I can crank engine without breaking a rod. Any ideas will be appreciate .... And no pictures , we where too busy trying get things out before it sank further.

You got it shut down b4 it could suck water in? I so it should just be a matter of draining and re-filling fluids. Pull th injectors or turn it gently by hand a few turns to check for hydro locking.
Drain your fuel hydraulic and check the chain case for water. Rest should not be to big of a deal.

I dont know if water got in before shutdown, hope so. The injectors are on other side of engine on this model , do you know how I can get to them? Is chaincase the same as engine oil crankcase? If not where is it> Is that plug in front of bobcat? Thanks

The glow plugs hsould be pretty easy to access, pull them out and spin it over. Check your air intake, replace the filters.
As ken said, chain case oil, hydraulic oil. You may need to dump it a few times if water got in the lines firther down. Check the colour and keep an eye on it for a few days.

What is chain case oil? Aw32 Hydraulic oil good for Bobcat, How much should I need Glow plugs should have wires to them and be one per cylinder? I took apart most of electrical and wd40. Is computer behind seat sealed? Also how do I remove area under to clean it out? Probably has a lot of mud.

Glow plugs have a rail attached, like an alloy bar, one per cylinder, near the injectors on the newer Kubota engines
AW32 would work in the chain case, engine oil is fine too. The BICS box is sealed, it *should* be ok.

It's a toss up on whether it's easier to reach the glowplugs from the engine area or by raising the cab and crawling in.

Got glow plugs out, it takes forever... Some by front... some by back....Glad I don't have to do that every day. Took apart starter it was full of mud. Ready to try cranking tommorow. Should I pull muffler or exhaust mainifold? Can't get to muffler drain plug Still dont know what is gearcase...Is it the dipstick under engine on left side. Or is that hydaulic oil. It seems hydraulic under cab are sealed, do I need to worry about them at all Thanks

Check the chaincase by removing the plug in front of the machine. Oil should be up to plug hole or at least able to reach with your finger. If it's too high or milky probably got water in it, there is no drain, needs to be pumped out through the front or by removing one of the top covers( through the front is probably easier). The dipstick in back is for Hydraulic oil. There is a vent on top of the hydraulic tank that may have let water in. Again no drain for this but I think you can loosen the dipstick tube and turn it sideways to drain if needed.

Got it all working, even got window back in. thanks all. I am going to check chaincase tomorrow. I am unfamiliar with what chaincase does. I thought everything on these units where hydraulic.

The chaincase lubricates your drive chains and bearings. Run the machine for a while and check the colour of the oil. It won't go milky straight away if its just sitting, it needs to be mixed up. The water, if it got inside would sit at the bottom till it got mixed up, then it goes milky. Its probably a good idea to change it anyway, even if you didn't get any water in there. It should be done every 1,000 hours and i bet the previous owner never changed it. You need to remove the front inspection plate and mop the oil out with rags, there will be sludge on the bottom from chain and sprocket wear, its totally normal.
