Hi all, I just wanted some advice. I am thinking of buying a backhoe attachment for my skid steer. I know it won't be as versatile as a MINI Excavator But Im not doing it for a living. Looking to pull some stumps, replant some trees, run a underground electric service ect, 2 different dealers willing to silver for $4500. But I would be buying sight unseen. 1)What should I ask, or look out for. both dealers say piston and hose are good, and they have the same standard answer low hours. 2) will this set up have enough ass to get the job done? 3) how much money will I loose when and if I sell? 4) How much of a pain to hook and unhook and drag around? Would love someone with first hand experience with the 911 Extender, but would defiantly appreciate someone who used a backhoe attachment to give me insight. Thank you for your time. Bob

I think the largest obstacle will be actual mounting that attachment to your John Deere. I recently ran into an interesting situation where a 709 will not EASILY mount up to a bobcat 863 or 853 machine. That was a true shock to me. Bobcat even defines THREE separate mounting brackets for their backhoe attachment mounting brackets. So, I would advise you to be very leery of what a dealer is trying to sell you on. Another thing to think of is that the older 909 attachment requires the use of trailer ball style mounting brackets to securely mount onto your machine. I hope those few tid-bits will help you out some.
