A new one will cost you a bunch.
Make a few calls and get it balanced, my dad got a quote of about $50 to do one.

Ok so far no machinist shop I have found can balance this blower flywheel. I have checked high and low on the web and found nothing on a used one. however the bobcat dealer wants 900$ for theirs and there is no way in hell i'm paying that for a hunk of cast. The input shaft is being worked on tomorrow at a company who makes hydraulic stuff. Anybody know of a site or place that I can get used parts for that bobcat? maybe even a pull-a-part type of place? this is getting frustrating.

If it were me, i'd try running it as is, the fins looked bent but not broken. Hopefully it is not too far out of balance. Secure it to a large pallet and fire it up, bring the revs up slowly and see how it is for vibrations.
Hook up a hose to the cooling system, don't cook it.
You can balance it your self, but it will take some time to do.

So what was the initial part to fail here?

The un greased u joints failed flipping sideways breaking the input shaft and sent the cog rolling around in the blower flywheel damaging that and the plastic fan shroud

This is the grease joint that is very difficult to get to?

Yes it is. But the easiest way I could reach in there was to lift the cab and go under the boom arm with my right arm leaning in a bit awkwardly but I could reach them. A lot of it is just feel, you cant see much there. I'll post a little more when I start to balance the blower flywheel myself.

The dropbox page has been updated with flywheel repair pics. Ill balance it maybe tomorrow on a level stand with a pipe going through it.

Now I see why the dealer wants $900 for the the flywheel! I'm hoping mine isn't as beat up as yours... That's some serious carnage when the u-joint fails!

It does look a bit nasty. I have one for a 743 that is a little sad too. I want to weld fins to it as well then get it balanced. I figure if i can get it mostly right, it will at least move lots of air still.
Are you using special rods at all?

Moving air isn't the main concern here its making sure its balance GOOD ENOUGH to not shake itself to death. I've propped it on a pipe and rolled it around and as far as I can tell its pretty good. But my Uncle owns a shop with a wheel balancer and he said as long as your close ( within a few ounces ) then it should be fine. He said they dont even balance the heavy 18 wheeler tires because they are so heavy that even if the rims are out of whack a little it isn't enough to hurt them. As far as the fins, I just used a piece of a blade from a tractor plow that was slightly curved and was the right thickness, cut it out, then cut it on an angle similar to the other pieces. I'm happy with it I mean its better than spending 900$

If you got it close, i rekon it should be ok. I have seen them have it on a roller supported by bearings, they add a small magnet, and it should make it rotate o the bottom. If it's anything like that, i think you have it pretty close.
Far better than $900 for a new one! it's in a palce you can't see, as long as it does the job, all is well.

Can anybody tell me where to get the pump I need. It is nearest the engine. The input shaft is broke and the Engineering shop here cant fix it. I think its the rear part. Here is the only thing I can find, but I just keep thinking I can find a better deal. I emailed that guy who had the whole pump for 400 but havent heard back. This is all I can find : http://www.loaderpartssource.com/reman-bobcat-843-rear-hydraulic-drive-pump.html Anybody know of a boneyard type of site who would have this?

Have you made contact with loader parts source? see if they have the shaft alone available?
I know they sell the pump, but they may have some old cores that they can pinch it from.

Try this company Aaron http://www.vickershydraulicpumprepair.com/index.html Best results from several google searches. Also, let us know how this goes with the pump replacement. I'm going to need one for my 843 too!

Well as of now my pump is at a local Cat dealer who shipped it to their pump specialist to give an estimate of a repair. Also that Vickers Company has been very helpful and very nice with me and quoted me a price for the shaft and seals. https://mail-attachment.googleusercontent.com/attachment/u/0/?ui=2&ik=6fe55005a7&view=att&th=13d4546df0fa3a5e&attid=0.1&disp=inline&safe=1&zw&saduie=AG9B_P_TUvm-8xopr0bzrFHHZopi&sadet=1363057714862&sads=ZdGgL2eiBnxBXqiA4ozaSmTru5I&sadssc=1 If the quote to fix the pump here is outragious, i'll send it to them for a free quote, then go from there. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks again for the help and responses, Also, I've been told steel and cast dont mix and to cut the fan blades all the same length ( from the longest fan blade I have ) which will be around half as long as they were origionally. The CAT dealer guys said it should be fine to do that, that way I know it would be balanced.

Thanks for the update Aaron. I haven't had a chance to pull the engine on my 843 yet but I'm expecting the exact same issues you've encountered. Funny you're getting a Cat estimate. My racing buddy works for the local Cat dealer and suggested I bring the pump from my 843 to their hydraulic repair for evaluation. And coincidentally, I was thinking the same thing on the flywheel fan blades. For what I'm going to do with the machine, cutting those blades down to the same size is probably going to be the best fix. I couldn't open the link you posted. What was the quote from the Vickers company?

On the fan i need to work on, i was considering bolting steel to it. Welding can be a little tricky unless you use special rods. I'd rather knock fins off on the opposite side, not take them all down to the same size.

Has anyone seen an electric fan conversion? It seems like there would be enough room to mount a fan on top of the radiator and draw air up and out.
