Hey Guys... I'm doing a drive motor service on my T190 Bobcat. I was able to get the fill plug out but the drain plug at the bottom was seized and stripped out the Allen head. I was however able to tack welding a nut by welding in the center of the nut to keep from welding the Allen plug to the casing and then welding a bolt to the nut. Immediately after welding we sprayed some Seafoam Deep Creep lubricant on it and while it was still hot put the ratchet on it and it came right out. I'm sure the heat from the welding process helped tremendously. I had tried everything I knew to do and this was a last resort and it worked great. This seems to be a pretty common problem with the older T190s and some other Bobcat machines because of the drain plug not having an o-ring to prevent moisture creeping in and causing it to seize. My question is should I put an anti-seize lubricant on the threads before I reinstall them to keep this from happening all over again? Anyone know if it's recommended?
