I just bought an S510 with about 1100 hours on it. Dealer told me last minute that the fuel gauge wasn't working and they would knock X$ off the price. I could just replace the fuel sensor when I got the machine delivered to my place. I get the loader and I see the fuel gauge and temp gauge both are not functioning. Hour meter does work. Idiot lights seem to work also. Is this common? My lay-person thought process is to remove the gauge cluster and test the wires leading to the cluster and see if there is anything registering there. But I don't know what wires are feeding which gauge and what they should be reading. I also don't want to mess up the hour meter and have a piece of equipment I have to tell the next potential buyer that the hour meter is not accurate. Suggestions? Thanks so much. I just found this forum. Been wanting to buy a skid steer for years. Have always gotten by with renting. Dang glad to have our own unit now and just want to get it running and working right to get the most out of it. Thanks in advance

I don't think that there is a book for that model in the manual thread, but you might find one close and see if it has some troubleshooting tips.
I hate to say it, but it's likely that if it was an easy or inexpensive fix the dealer would have done it rather than discount it. It could be that they opted to discount it X$, because to fix it would cost 7X$, and would be unrecoupable.
