My 2004 S250 hour meter has pretty much stopped working. Most of the pixels just stopped displaying so you cannot read it. Has anyone pulled the display itself and replaced it? I would need to purchase the entire left side display if I cannot replace or repair the little display.

The panel is only sold as one piece, so if buying a new one, you would have to get the whole left panel. That said someone who tinkers with electronics maybe able to open it up and swap the LCD display. I don't know if it is actually possible to do so since I have never open one up. Hours are stored in the controller, not the dash so no matter what you do, the hour count won't be lost.

I pulled the panel out and removed the screws but it may be glued together. Don't want to damage it any further as it still starts and runs fine. Is there any source for a used panel?

If you have any local wrecking yards, the dash is interchangeable between just about all models for about a 10 year period.

I beg to differ. The G and K series left panels did change.
Later K series dash did change, but not early K. I want to say when they ent to the serial numbers starting with the A prefix. Dashes from all G series to mid run K are all the same.

so the panels did change in the last 10 years?
