I have an S250 with the Deutz, it quit while driving, and spit out a code for fuel solenoid. The fuse for fuel solenoid was blown, replaced it, and still no luck. Solenoid shows 1-2 ohms resistance. Time for a new fuel solenoid? or chase another problem. Thanks in advance!

Have you checked the fuel shutoff relay in the fusebox? I'd take another relay in the fusebox (the headlight) and swap it around to see what happens. By swapping the fuel for a headlight, its easy to see if the relay is bad simply by turning on your headlights. Its the easiest and cheapest thing to do for your situation.

If you need to move the machine you can zip tie the fuel lever open and then just cut it to shut down.

Is the fuel lever just above the throttle linkage? Or do I have to remove the solenoid?
The zip tie may or may not work. Some machines have external linkages some the shut off is mounted in the pump. Our older machines have a timer in the circuit for the pick up side of the coil. The coils have two sides a pick up and hold. If you have external linkage turn key to run and push the linkage over if it stays than it is pickup side. Did it burn fuse again or not start

Yeah I just re-read your first post and see you said it had the Deutz engine so the cable tie won't work. I was thinking it was a Kubota.
Here's some troubleshooting info.

Thanks for all of the help and info, solenoid must be going sour...there is an arm for fuel shutoff on the outside, but if the solenoid isn't working, it holds the rack to the left (shutoff) position, and the arm on the outside appears to do nothing. Solenoid smells burnt electrically. Worked for a couple clicks and ran for a minute or two, then quit. New solenoid on the way.

I've been asked to look at a CAT model 262 B. It has an intermittent electrical problem. Once started it works OK, but when you shut off and go for a restart it may not start. I got it to give the prob. and when I checked, there was no voltage at the fuel pump. I injected some voltage with my Powerprobe and it started. removed the voltage and it cut out. Did some checking and the voltage came back. Any suggestions, where can I get a schematic? Thanks in advance.

For the CAT 262. We had a similar problem with a cat machine and the voltage regulator in the alternator was acting up and caused some issues. Had the alternator rebuilt fixed the issues, but had to replace a fuel shutoff soloniod that it burned out.

Replaced fuel solenoid, problem solved. Original style solenoid no longer available, replacement unit requires adapter harness. $400.00
