Is my alternator bad? Brand new battery won't stay charged. Voltmeter says 11v. After replacing battery still had problem so voltmetered from alternator red to battery black and got 11v, tighted belt and got 14v - problem solved! not. Now same test gives me 11v again. No codes. If bad can I replace it with aftermarket from Autozone? Thanks for any advice.

Sorry, never seen the alternator that bobcat used at autozone...maybe Im wrong but I do sell my share of alternators. Maybe rebuild yours would be cheaper but saying that they usually are cheaper for a reason.

I don't recommend aftermarket alternator on this newer machine.
“Alternator and Kits” 25 A Fuse and Switched power relay-double check.
The two wires that go into the alternator. One is constant 12V, the other, I think is pink, is marked 1800, it is 12V keyed power. If it's not connected, the computer has no way to know that and no code until your system voltage gets too low.
I'm thinking, you were in there tightening your belt and jiggled the harness, it started working and now it's not. Could you have a broken/burned 1800 wire in the harness by the alternator? That wiring is close to the exhaust manifold and it's common.
Always check the 1800 wire before you throw an alternator at it. I learned this the hard way........=).
