My S 160 shuts down every now and again and if I'm reading the warning light correctly it's because of excessive idle but I know that's not the case. Any and all input on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What service code/codes is it displaying?
No code - just the warning light for excessive idle, etc. I forgot to mention that it also did cut out while idling and it was a little stubborn starting today. Maybe fuel filter or possible ice in system - I just don't know. I'm new to the Bobcat scene. Thanks.

Never heard of a excessive idle warning light. Can you describe the light or post a picture.

The right instrument panel (with key switch) has 2 rows of icons (7 in the top row and 7 in the bottom row). When the skidsteer shuts down, the second icon in the top row lights up. It's numbered 17 in my manual and indicates engine speed high.

Engine RPM sensor is failing.

Can anyone tell me how or where to locate this sensor. Thanks.
