I noticed the middle indention on the front of my 853, where the lift arms come down and 'stop', is metal to metal contact. Is there suppose to be a rubber bumper there to cushion the impact?, I do notice once in a while a 'clank'.

I've never seen one with a rubber pad there but I have seen steel pads added there to gain clearance for tracks.

Its not a bad idea but it will hold your boom up some. On my 753 the chaincase crack from the boom stop hitting it so hard and often. (I was not the first owner in my defense) This resulted in the seal on the top cover breaking loose and letting water in.
