I always use just enough rpm to provide the required hp or spped to do what I need to do. I frequently idle it down when doing some real fine work. Lifting something with a chain or around somone. I want my machines to last as long as possible. I think as long as you have decent oil pressure slower rpm will do no harm. I run my ls170 at around the 2k mark.. and my Hydra Mac slower.</p></blockquote><p></p>
