I would like to repower, but I'm retireing in a few months and can't justify spending the money. Guess I'll try to keep the old Kohler going. Cuba has been keeping their machinery running since 1965 with very few resource .Since there is very few parts available (thanks Kohler; not going to buy your faucets either) maybe I can find some local machine shops with cnc machine, or get a part time job as a Walmart greeter and repower. If you look in the Repower section, I did a similar repower on my 440b, replaced a Kohler Magnum 18hp with a 20 hp Launtop (Chonda). If the Predator 22hp had been available when I did my swap, I likely would have sprung for one. Good value for the money.
Is the machine that you are repowering an M500? if so, check out these links:

I used this website as my inspiration to repower my 440b.

If the market is there, like in Cuba, they will keep making parts to keep their cars/machinery going. Other countries just move on, something gets older, they don't keep up with the parts availablility if it's not proffitible.I would like to repower, but I'm retireing in a few months and can't justify spending the money. Hello, welcome to Walmart????If the market is there, like in Cuba, they will keep making parts to keep their cars/machinery going. Other countries just move on, something gets older, they don't keep up with the parts availablility if it's not proffitible.
I'm sure you could get parts to repair your motor if ever needed, it's just a question of if it's worth it or to just get anohter engine and drop it in for less money.
