Hi All, I am finally replacing my deutz 2 cylinder with another one off of a compressor. When I pull the old engine I want to do any preventative work so I dont have to pull it again any time soon. Anybody have any certain hoses or seals for me to check? I plan on cleaning the whole thing up and painting the engine compartment. Also need to do rear axle seals, are they easier with the engine out? Thanks

Check to see if there is a hose looping up from underneath the control block. Not sure if yours has one or not.
It would be easier to do the rear axle seals without the engine, you really need to pull the pump as well to gain access to the inspection cover. Ensure they are sealed up well too with quality silicone.
Check/grease or even replace the universal joints too. If there is any play or tight spots, they need replacing.
Ensure the rear seal on the pump isn't leaking too, if it is, now is the time to swap it out.
