Removing Governor on 630

I need to remove the governor on my 630 (Wisconsin V-4). The manual just says to remove it and does not elaborate on how to actually do this. Is there a large gear on the end of the shaft that will require removal of the timing/gear cover to pull the gear, or can I just unbolt it and slide it out? Thanks, Will

Just curious if you solved the governor issue. My 630 is having trouble too, but I don't have a manual for it (they are like $99 on ebay right now, so I'm still looking online to try and find a PDF version or something photocopied). Matt
