I recently had to replace inner & outer axle bearings and the oil seal on a Thomas 153. One of the outer bearings had spun on the axle and caused some wear to the axle. Contacted the local dealer here in Australia and was quoted around $1200.00 for a new axle. Rather than replacing the axle I repaired the existing by machining and sleeving both the oil seal and bearing surfaces. Axle machining works cost $400.00 and is working perfectly.
