I have a driveway about 100' long which has recently been resurfaced. It is steep and needs to be plowed. It doesn't seem worthwhile to get a snow plow or snow pusher for that amount, but I don't want to just use the Bobcat bucket for fear of wrecking the fresh asphalt. My idea was to take the cutting edge off and get a 2x12 long enough to span the bucket edge. I'd use the holes in the bucket for a series of plow bolts to bolt the 2x12 in place of the cutting edge. My thinking is that the 2x12 would be strong enough to avoid splitting (as long as it was used carefully) and yet soft enough not to tear up the asphalt. Has anyone else tried this, or heard of it being done?
