Problems with new tracks

Hello- I am new to CTLs as well as this forum. I recently bought a used Mustang mtl 16 (a twin to a Takeuchi tl 130) from a private seller. It has 1150 hrs on it and seems to run well. The tracks needed to be replaced and the seller (who had a shop) agreed to replace the tracks and sprockets. He replaced them with new parts. Now that I got it home and ran it about 3 hours I have noticed that on the left track there is one spot (drive hole on the track) that does not align with with the cog on the sprocket. This causes the cog to raise the track until the cog "pops" into place. I can not see any irregular part of the metal cleat that is causing this problem. I also tried adjusting the tension (both up and down) but the problem continues. Is this a problem that that will go away as the parts "wear in", or do I need to do something about it now? I certainly will appreciate any ideas from you folks who know alot more about this than I do. Thanks.

I'm not sure about Mustangs, but I know on Bobcats there is a specific pitch to the tracks. There are two different pitches which look almost identical. However, if you put the wrong pitch track on your machine, it will tear the tracks up. I suspect you have the wrong pitch tracks. Here's some info- http://www.rubbertrax.com/index.asp?page=tracks

I would agree that it sounds like that is not the right track or sprocket for that machine , I'd reseach what the OEM specs are and what the specs of the track and sprocket you got on there now ------------------ from what I seen 1150 hours is very low for a Takeuchi under carriage , they usually exceed 2000 easliy , must have been in some extreme conditions

Thanks for your responses. It looks like a bad track. The problam happens only on two adjacent track drive holes. The under carriage was not in bad shape (tracks about 40 percent), but I took advantage an opportunity to start with fresh tracks and sprockets.

I kinda got bit on my first thoughts on the problem cause I didn't read the post right , from reading the post I thought it had the same problem on both sides of the machine and not just one of the tracks , that would have changed my thoughts on what the problem was ------------------can I ask what brand you got , I doubt it was Bridgestone -----------if you had 40% left on good quaility tracks and traded off for 100% of brand x and have trouble right out the gate , it may have washed out

The new tracks are RubberTrax. The old tracks looked ragged, but the seller said it was 40%. I am not the person to assess that. Hopefully we can get it resolved.
