My 600 runs great when cold, but after about 30 minutes it will start missing and puffing black smoke out the exhaust....just wondering where to start looking? I did replace points and condenser last fall. Thanks.
Black smoke generally indicates excessive fuel, i'd check your choke is not sticking? or that your tank cap is vented and not plugged up, if its not, it may be building up pressure forcing in too much fuel.

Both things that you suggested I checked tonight and both where fine....was wondering about the carb...what brand it is and price of a rebuilt or reman?

I have never had to buy one, but sadly, i'd expect them to be rather expensive from the dealer as its a rather old part. I'm sure others have places to get them direct and the price was FAR better. Hopefully them will chime in and let you know where to look.
