Finally got my download for my 440b Service Manual. I could not believe that it does not address changing the oil. How to recondition the engine, yes. How to do anything and everything to the hydrolic system, yes. How to change the engine oil? No. It refers me to the Operators manual which I cannot find on-line. Shouldn't how to change the engine oil be outlined in the service manual? And if so what topic would it be listed under because i sure can't find it. Or, if I do need another manual entirely, any suggestions as to a website that has the Operators Manual because again I can't find it. Getting really frustrated here. Thanks for any insight.

It normally is in the Bobcat service manuals but I looked at the copy I have for the 440b and its not there. The 440 service manual does have it.
Shouldn't be any thing special about changing the oil on the Kohler M18 in the 440B so you can go to the Kohler engines website to download the operators manual for the engine here.

If the drain plug is on the blind side of the engine there likely is a capped off drain hose attached to the drain that is wrapped around and laying at the rear of the engine.

Outside of wiring and hydraulic diagrams and torque specs, bobcat manuals are pretty useless. The manuals like to skip steps or vise versa tell you to do a lot of stuff you don't need to do. They are OK for a reference, but far from a true bobcat bible.

Thank you for looking at your 440b manual and verifying that changing the oil really isn't addressed. I was beginning to think I was nuts. Since I couldn't find the oil filter I thought I would resort to the manual to either locate it or confirm that there isn't one. Then I couldn't find it in the manual.
