hi all, My old bobcat 444 with an onan engine will overheat ( i think ) after about 30 minutes use then shut down. If I let it sit for another 30 minutes then it starts right back up. This continues on and on. This machine is relatively new to me so I'm not too familiar with the cooling system. Any thoughts are appreciated.

It's an air cooled engine just like a garden tractor. Make sure the cooling fins are clean. May have to remove some shrouding to see everything. Other possible problem is the coil is getting hot and quits working. Once cooled it works again.

upon closer inspection... some welds holding the engine mounting plate to the frame have broken and the engine is off line quite a bit. The main drive belt and shaft to hydraulic pump are misaligned. Could this have caused it to act like it was overheating? I guess we will find out when I get the engine back in line and fastened down. Has anyone installed a radiator fan in the engine compartment before? It seem quite closed up in there. Thanks!
