I have a 743 Bobcat and today one of the hoses came loose I repaired that then I noticed oil inside the coolant resivoir bottle. I checked the oil dipstick yet no oil is in the motor. Does anyone ever experienced this issue and if so how do I correct the problem. The machine is still starting up but I dont want to run it again till I can fix the issue.

Oil is at a higher pressure so often its in the coolant with no coolant in the oil. I had this problem in a VW diesel Rabbit and drove for awhile until I dumped it on a dealer. Possible causes would be a head gasket or cracked head/block. Is there an oil cooler that is cooled by antifreeze? If so that would be the think to check first. Get a UOA of the oil to be sure there is no antifreeze in it.

It sounds like a possible head crack. Just how much oil are we talking about?
