Ok, 274 ohms for empty and 50 ohms when full.I have a spare one at home, i just need to find where i put it!!! I can take a quick measurement for you. i *think* i paid about $180 for mine.... was a bit of a shock! This was about 3 years ago and in $AUD so your price will be cheaper than mine.
I'll look to see if i can find it before i run off to work.... IF i can find it.
Wha? Whassat? Paint to increase resistance on a resistor? I had no idea such a thing existed.Ok, 274 ohms for empty and 50 ohms when full.
With my new one to get FSD (full scale deflection) i needed to put some conductive paint on the upper windings on the resistor. Without the paint, FSD on the gauge was only showing 1/2 to 3/4 full. After lowering the resistance i got it pretty close to being rite. You need to pull the 50 ohms closer to 0 to get the needle to move a little more.
I wish you luck! i called my dealer when i got it and he said that was normal, its only an indicator and not to be trusted for being precise.
Yes, it was from an electronics shop. Its simply conductive paint, clean the surface and put it on. You can probably get it from an auto store too for repairing rear window de-misters, you know the tracks they put on them? you damage it and you paint this stuff on to repair it. Some you can even solder to! I had a quick look but can't find it on the net, but its out there.Wha? Whassat? Paint to increase resistance on a resistor? I had no idea such a thing existed.
I would like to learn about this paint and how to use it. Where do you get it? Electronics shop, I guess?
