Having a fit removing the jamb nut on the tilt cylinder. Anyone here have a trick to loosen these nuts? 24" pipewrench didn't get it. Is it ok to heat them first? Don't wanna ruin the rod. help

I know this is apples and oranges but on my backhoe I was told that the cylinder nut is torqued to 1000 lbs so I had a pro do the seals. I have know idea of what yours is but before you go trying to get apart it might be a question you want answered before you start.

the tilt cylindars are a lot smaller then those on my backhoe (ford 755) I cracked those nuts off when it was 15 below zero here. NH musta used thread lock and lots of it

"Jamb" nut? are you talking about the nut that holds the piston on the end of the rod?
The service manual actually shows a bolt here, but refers to it as a "retaining stud"
torques to 225 ft lbs, with lock-tite medium strength.
I may have used a stout 3/4 inch impact wrench to get mine off.

or maybe the threaded "head"( also called a "gland") with the seals in it ?
Also torques to 225 ftlb, I think it said something about hydraulic sealant.
I think the tilt cylinders came apart without undue effort, one of the boom cylinders I used a 36" pipe wrench, a 6 foot cheater pipe & a torch to heat it up some.

My machine is LX865, but manual shows the same for the 885.
