I just picked up an L170. Its a 2006 with the dash in the center of the machine, not on the side like the newer ones. I never had a machine this new, always messed with the LS/LX machines. How do you get the hours to show on the dash? Right now it just shows RPM'S. Also, is the dash supposed to light up when you sit in the seat(like an LS/LX)? My seat switch is jumpered so maybe that is making the dash act up... Also, there doesnt appear to be a service/run switch. Was that eliminated on the newer machines? Thanks Mike

The jumpered seat switch is keeping the lights from coming on when you sit in the seat. It is also causing the hours not to be displayed. You evidently have the advanced instrument panel installed in this unit which has three bar graphs. The hours display momentarily when you first sit in the seat and then the display will show was has been chosen to display. There are several options for the display. You need to enter the setup mode of the instrument panel to change the option. I generally set them up to cycle through all available options. This way an item is displayed for a few seconds before it moves to the next item. There is no service run switch on these models.

Thanks Mike. I don't know why everyone decided to bypass electronics... I will have to get the seat switch taken care of. Also, right above the tach display there is a little button(???) or maybe a speaker? It is about 1/4 or 3/16 in diameter? Mine is broken out, so I am not sure what it is/was. I halfway thought it might be a button to toggle between rpm and hours.
