I owned a Bobcat 440B for a while to clean out my barns and light work around the farm. For some stupid reason (duh), I sold it and bought an ATV with a snow plow. Obviously, I wish I would have kept the 440b. I have an opportunity to trade for a late 70's 720. The 440b fit in the barn just fine, but was a little small to do a whole lot of other things, did not have the Bob-tach or auxiliary hydraulics. I'm not sure yet what to do - I have to measure the ceiling in the barn - if it will fit, so it may not even be an option. I know that the 440b worked well for me for the very light tasks I did with it, however it would be nice to have something bigger. I can trade the ATV even for the 720 (I'm asking $3500 for the ATV which is probably a high number), but I hear a lot of negatives about the 720 models. The owner says it works and runs good, and has a Ford? 4 cylinder engine. I know next to nothing about Bobcat models - and I don't want to buy something that I'm constantly putting money into. I also don't want to spend a bunch of money - I have the value of the ATV to work with. The question is, am I better off to sell the ATV and try to put in a little more cash to buy another 440b, or is the 720 worth having? Obviously, the height of my barn ceiling will determine if the 720 is an option at all.
