Hello all!
I got the bug for big dirt a few years ago from one of the best in the big dirt business. I am a nun in an Orthodox Christian monastery and we needed a lot of sitework to be done. A 1975 big beefy bulldozer full of leaks and rust named Alis roared outside my window until I could not take it anymore. After getting a blessing from my abbess, I began learning the ropes of big dirt on Alis. After the end of the season, our wonderful dirt guy left his Bobcat here for a week and I pushed snow every single day! Last Tuesday I finally became an owner of a Bobcat 773 F-series Skidsteer! She is older, probably late 90's, but in rather nice condition from an amazingly gifted mechanic that the previous owner used. They said it was a 2000 but Bobcat stopped the F-series in '99 so I am still hunting for info.

Anyways, lovely to be here! One of the other nuns here said after Bobby came home and I worked with her on the manure pile, "You look like you just got married!" ha! I will have some really dumb questions, be patient with me! First thing is what type of grease I need, all I know is EP rated but I looked and was a bit overwhelmed. Next is fluids. Next week I got someone to install a block heater and one of the monks nearby got rid of the rust and painted Bobby. He also made me a rough door and covered the windows up so I can push a whole lotta snow and stay a little warm!

I'm gagging at "You look like you just got married!" Welcome to the Skidsteer Forum, Sister Matrona!
haha! I just am that excited and full of joy about finally having a skidsteer of my own! To have one means I can manage our huge alpaca manure pile, make new fences, raised beds, fix the insane drainage issue that is ruining our garden, etc and my favorite, pushing snow! I have calmed down quite a bit now that I have moved the manure and got a bucket of topsoil!

If you send Bobcat an email with your serial number they will tell you the year it was manufactured.

I’ve attached a photo of the specifications for the F series. This should cover your machine if the serial number is lower than 517611001.
