We just got a new L228, from our local Tractor/Skid Steer dealer. We got it delivered, they left out in the open (the whole neighborhood knows we got a new skid steer ????). Sounds great, the bucket hydraulics are lightning quick, the boom hydraulics are a bit slower than our LX865. It has Two Speed (standard) it’s pretty quick (won’t be using anytime soon, kinda scary when you’re going ~12 mph with a pallet of brick on rough “un graded” terrain), it came with glide control, according to the manual it makes the boom cylinders behave like contained shocks (like those on you’re storm door) so when on bouncy terrain it’ll help keep your load safe and it won’t “spill”. It’s also got a Mechanical suspension seat, pretty neat I guess, my dad hates the reverse alarm, it also doesn’t have a step for when you have to get out with the boom raised in the air kind of miss it (it’s not safe to go under your boom...). So far no issues, specs say it reaches about 4-5 inches higher than our LX865 haven’t noticed it that much. Moves pallets of brick like a dream, we are yet to unload a pallet of mortar yet (pretty heavy around 3,750 lbs). So far no problems, the engine compartment is cramp can’t open it up like our LX865, oh well.....(until something breaks ????)Although everything that's routine maintenance is out in the open, like the hyraulic fluid, air filter, the dipstick is right there. I’ll post if something breaks or goes wrong (fingers crossed I don’t need to post anything ????)

Congrats on your new machine, sounds like you will find some good work for it, and i bet the neighbours will find jobs they would like you to do for them too :)
