Hey all, posting on behalf of my father. Forgive me if I'm not too technical in my description of the problem. Recently, the LS170 at our greenhouse has been having problems. My father says that in the morning, the machine starts up fine just about all of the time. However, when it's turned off and he has to go back to it later in the day (to load mulch for instance), he has problems with the EIC (this is what it's called on the mechanic's sheet) panel not waking up all of the time. It was taken to a repairman and the costs seem to keep going up on it, which is very frustrating. They are saying we need a new panel, and my dad wants to know if this is really the problem. Here are copies of the work needed to be done and what was done to it: 5/24/13 Intermittent problem starting machine. Sometimes no display. hanged seat/switch Check for rodent damage. was error code for fuel solenoid. no hours on display when it does light up. started and ran after taken off trailer. then: adjust brakes. hange chain case oil, both sides labor performed: found fuse with bad connection due to rodent. removed fuse holder from roof and cleaned nest cleaned fuse holder tested machine. ok. adjusted parking brake. had to remove broken drain plugs from both chain cases. installed new plugs. 6/28/13 EIC panel sometimes won't wake up Hourmeter resets itself Labor performed: replaced seat switch needs new EIC If my wording isn't clear, let me know and I will try to get more detail.
