Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum. I have a new holland L555 Deluxe skid loader (1988) Kubota engine. The starter has gone out and I can't get to it. How do i raise the boom, so I can open the engine compartment? I don't know if there is a releif valve to relieve pressure or if I need to loosen the hoses on the cylinders at both ends so I can hoist them up?

If you sit in the seat like you are going to start the machine, seat belt hooked. Turn the key on and the foot pedal that operates the boom should lock into a float position if you push it all the way forward, then you can lift the boom with another machine or a hoist or lift. Be extremely careful that the boom is secured so it cannot drop as there will be nothing to stop it until it hits bottom! It will fall faster than you can get out of the way!
