Mike, I had read that post which is why I am pretty comfortable that the circuit is working correctly. Over lunch, I wen to start the machine and it started just fine with the start light on the control module coming on at the same time the key was turned to the start position. I then moved the bundle of wires going to the control box and it would not work (no start light), then moved them again and got it to work again so I now think I have a bad connection in the connector leading to the box or a short.
